I looked up some hotels close to the wedding/reception venue. They are all really close to food and anything else in Hammond you would want to get to. I would not think of Hammond, Louisiana as a New Year's destination, so you should not have trouble getting a room.
Quality Inn & Conference Center (2.6 Miles Away) 2000 South Morrison Blvd. Hammond, LA 70403 p. 985-345-0559 f. 985-345-0557 $90-$110 per night
Days Inn Hotels (1.2 Miles Away) 2150 SW Railroad Avenue Hammond, LA 70403 p. 985-419-1000 f. 985-419-1009 $81-$100 per night
Hampton Inn (3.4 Miles Away) 401 Westin Oak Drive Hammond, LA 70403 p. 985-419-2188 f. 985-419-0881 $102-$150 per night
Comfort Inn (3.4 Miles Away) 110 Westin Oak Drive Hammond, LA 70403 p. 985-429-0120 f. 985-429-0015 $95-$159 per night
Best Western (1.4 Miles Away) 107 Duo Drive Hammond, LA 70403 p. 985-419-2001 f. 985-419-8001 $90-$120 per night

I am going to need help with a few things. I am sure this list will grow as the day gets closer, but here is what I have for now.
*I need someone talented person to help with alterations. I have the boys suits that need a bit of altering and some dresses. My dress will need it too, but I might need to go to a dress shop for that. I don't know how involved any of these are. Let me know.
*Grandma Norman is doing the flowers and a doing a great job if I do say so myself. She and I will be setting up the centerpieces and stuff before the wedding. If anyone will be able to get to the wedding a little early to help, that would be great. We shouldn't need much help, but an extra hand is always appreciated.
*Leah, we need to get together and do a test run on hair and make-up. I was thinking we could do it one weekend and you could take some pictures of your brother and me for an engagement picture and other stuff. Call me when you have some time off.
I am sure this list will grow. Thanks again to everyone.

The link above is the wedding venue. It is a small bed and breakfast in Hammond, Louisiana. It is not too fancy, but CJ and I loved it when we saw it. There are no rooms available in this hotel the weekend of the wedding. They have all been reserved. I will post later on hotels close to the venue.
We are going to be married on the steps in front of the house, weather permitting. The reception will be in the atrium behind the main house.

I know I should have done this a long time age, but here is my first post about the wedding. Everything is coming along well, with a few exceptions. I have promised CJ (not to mention myself) that I will not to stress. That is no way to start the rest of our lives together. CJ is being wonderful. He has resigned himself to being decoration. LOL! He wants to make no decisions. He does get three wishes though. We will see what those turn out to be. I would hate to have to deny his only wishes for the wedding. <---joking. Everyone has been very helpful and wanting to help. That is really good. We are going to need it. I am pretty much doing everything myself with the help of friends and family. Thank you guys for your support.
